General Information about BLR

We encourage having a team of 6 for scheduling conflicts. A minimum of 3 racers are required. Only 3 will race per event. (We will allow a 2 man team on occasion if pre-arranged, however, the remaining points will be forfeited to the opposing team.)

We ask for only 1 racer replacement per team, per Season. If you have open spots at the beginning of the Season or any team members that have not raced in the current season, you may fill those during the Season without penalty. All replacements will be reviewed by the BLR Committee representatives (MelodyMel, Klepto, DanHowl) and must be arranged prior to your event start. Any replaced member will not be eligible to race on a team the remainder of the current BLR Season.

Some of you have invites turned off and do not get the notice they have been sent. If you are unable to enter your event zone, please go to Places and find the event fun zone and accept your invite prior to the event starting.  Please do not cancel or decline your reminder invite, not always will someone be available to re-invite.

In your event, with the Official present, the Away Captain will pick his three man/woman line up first.  The Home Captain will pick their parallel matches for the first match of racing.  Both teams will have 10-15 minutes of practice laps on the track.

Each race is a two lap race (unless it is a short track and the Official will decide between 2 or 3 laps). Each set of racers will race 3 races back to back. Once the first set of 3 by all 3 racers are complete, a second match will begin for a total of 12-18 races within each event.

a) A match constitutes a series of 3 potential races, meaning there is the possibility for one league event to have 18 races and at the minimum will have 12. Each match will pit one racer from one team against a racer from another in a 1 on 1 race. The match will be best 2 of 3 and will be worth 3 points. For example, if a Team A racer wins the first 2 races, they will win the match 3-0. If it is tied after the first 2 races, the winner of the third race will win the match with a 2-1 score. If your team wins the match with a 3-0 score, they will receive a quality win point that will be used as a tiebreaker in the final standing should teams be tied. At the end of the league event, the score will be some variation of 18 points.

b) If an opposing team is non-responsive or a no show the 1st week, all points are awarded to the showing team for championship seeding. If the same team is a no show in a second event of the season, they are omitted from the Season and become a "bye" (without rights to any of the purse).

After completing the first set of 3 races, the 3 racers stay the same, however, the lineups may change.  In order to be fair to both teams and give each team a shot a picking the matchups, this season we will alternate home and away teams during the first and second set of matches.  Therefore, if your team was home team in the first set of matches, you will be the away team in the second set.  The Captains will once again meet with the Official and the Away Captain will choose to keep the same lineup or change (reminding the original 3 racers stay the same only the lineup may change.)  The Home Captain then chooses to keep the same lineup or change. Therefore, the lineup of the 3 original racers can be different the second set should the Captains choose them to be.

The only time a race will be stopped is two-fold.  One, if both racers do not pass the start gate timely or lags out/lines up improper.  Two, if the racer that is in the lead freezes or shuts down.  In that case, there will be a one chance, 5 minute waiting period for the opportunity of re-log for the lead racer and the race will start again. The Officials and BLR Crew will monitor these situations within the Officials IM Box during the BLR events.

Officials, if you have any questions or need assistance, contact DanHowl or MelodyMel and we will be able to help or be the direct connection to the committee for input.

An Official will:

a) Verify there is a track in place for the event.  The existing track in the zone will be used once the event starts.

b) The Official will witness and record the lineups for the event.

c) Answer any preliminary questions to the event, enforce or clarify rules and guidelines, police any distractions and report final scores on a template form provided to them via the BLR website for posting.

d) Participate in a group IM with peers and BLR representation during events.
